Devon has the best calling ever. He team teaches the Sunbeams with his good friend Bret. And they are awesome teachers because they're calm and patient and it takes a lot to ruffle their feathers. I visited their class once and I have never laughed so hard at church. Nearly every week Devon comes home with some hysterical story. I thought I would share a few because they're too funny to keep to myself.
This week they had a visitor. They asked her what her parents' names are. She said, "My mom's name is Michelle. My dad is big and fat and sleeps in the same bed as my mom and snores like a big bear." Classic!
They also have this teeny tiny girl who is a major talker. You never know what she'll come up with next. The week I visited their class the lesson was about the Holy Ghost and this little girl proceeded to tell them all about her nightmare about a ghost and then lifted up her dress and said, "Look at my new underwear." She also said to Devon in the middle of class, "What the heck did you do that for?" This week Bret saw her at our ward dinner and said hi. She turned to her dad and said, "We're here to eat, not talk" and stomped off.
I dare you to try and convince me that your calling is more fun.

Jessica, those stories are so funny. I was a sunbeam teacher a year or so ago and LOVED it!! One time we brought in a paper bag with a banana in it and were going to have the kids feel the outside of the bag and try to guess what was inside. It was hilarious!!! We had two kids guess bubble gum and three say the holy ghost. Ha ha. We were cracking up.
We also had a little girl that was a fire cracker and said the FUNNIEST things. One time she was telling a story about her pink sleeping bag and this other little girl in the class, dressed in a pink dress and pink shoes, said "pink is my favorite color too!" The little girl said "Ya, I know, we can see that." Then she continued on with her story like it was no big deal. It was SO funny, and so hard not to laugh. ha ha.
I would agree 100% that it is the best calling ever!
oooh - I llke posts about the sunbeam class! I always wonder what Grace says in there. Please tell us if Devon ever has stories about Grace - or just keep an ongoing post on your blog. I wish I could be a fly on the wall just to see what goes on in there.
The junior primary kids are so cute. I play piano in Jr. Primary and I love to just sit there and listen to all of the funny things they have to say. Today, during sharing time, the leader asked what a bully is. One kid raised his hand and then pointed to one of the younger kids and said, "It's when someone says, 'give me your lunch money, NOW!' Sad that he knows that, but it was hilarious.
